The EPA has declared the Gowanus Canal to be on par with the nation's most toxic waste sites, officially granting it Superfund status. Bloomberg and the canal's colonies of mutant races are bummed out, but the EPA insists that they will provide the best results. We foresee a clear and bright future for the canal, one in which children catch crawdads instead of syphilis.

Save the World!
It seems like newly re-elected Mayor Bloomberg thinks he can to do a better job cleaning up the Gowanus Canal than Superfund. Promising $150 million, Bloomberg might just want to get that nasty bit of clean-up swiftly out of the way so real-estate can keep rollin' out dolla's.
